Organization (PAAO) is a registered
Non-Governmental Organization based in Nigeria. It was founded on the 18th of September 1999 by Chief Sandra. C. Duru.
Conceived on the baisis of a humanist philosophy, the organization's vision exists as a function of its founders' burning desire and dream
for positive change in the survival conditions of
pre-adults in Nigeria and esle where in the developing world.
Chief Sandra Chidinma Duru, the Founder and Executive Director of PAAO, developed a strong passion for enlightening less priviledged in the country in relation to issues of self-management, reproductive health and rights issues in her teenage years. As she grew from one stage of knowledge and understanding to another, education for proper mental and physical health development, and also for proper life planning, women and youth empowerment made her list of passionate intersts.
PAAO is particularly committed to making profound contributions to the improvement of the health status of Nigerian women and to the economic empowerment of young Nigerians.
THE CHALLENGE
- High maternal mortality alongside abysmal level of social and economic empowerment among Nigerian youths is a major underpinning of under-development in Nigeria.
- The imperative of progressive increases in private and public sector institutional investment in youth empowerment and maternal health in Nigeria lies more in promises and policies than in progressive institutional action.
PAAO aims to make cost-effective contributions to the process of helping women and young Nigerians out of these situations by mobilizing adequate financial and personnel resources from within and outside Nigeria.
