We are providers of high quality charitable services for the welfare of women and young people.
As an outgrowth of SSSNEA (SECONADRY SCHOOL STUDENTS NATIONAL EDUCATION ASOCIATION); a youth-specific initiative, our organization runs in adherance to operational ethics and values that are deeply consistent with the unique world-view and understanding of young people.
OUR BRIEF HISTORY
On 16th August 1997, Sandra Chidinma Duru, the Executive Director of SSSNEA; then a student of Eva Adelaja Girls Secondary School in Gbagada, a suburb of the bustling metropolis of Lagos (the former capital city of Nigeria), initiated SSSNEA. The association consistently organized seminars and conferences that were characterized by themes that tallied with its special mission. SSSNEA also organized debates and established reading clubs in different schools in the city. Prizes were routinely awarded by the Association to support and enhance the participation of interested secondary school students.
SSSNEA later metamorphosed into “SANCHHY DE YOUTHS ORGANISATION”. This new outfit was actively engaged in informing, enlightening and educating less privileged youths in Lagos and also in Imo State (located in the South-East region of Nigeria). Sanchhy De Youths Organization evolved to become Pre-Adult Affairs Organization (PAAO) in due course.
ACTIVITIES
PAAO is highly active in assiting women and young people to appropriately address issues of personal hygiene, puberty, self-management and the challenges of growing-up in an increasing complex and tasking society.
Pressing teenage/adolescent challenges like teenage abortion and its consequences also form part of PAAO's list of activities. HIV-AIDS issues are not left out of the list, same for issues that bother around sexually transmitted diseases. PAAO organizes free lectures on career-choice and career-prospects as a way of pre-equiping them for future challenges.
In the course of her involvement in this work, Chief Duru discovered that the average Nigeria has grossly limited access of to quality information about their professional and other legitimate preferences. On the premise of this finding, PAAO subsequently set out to gather and disseminate relevant high quality information with the aim of encouraging them to use it to improve their decision-making processes and to ultimately enhance the quality of life of the Nigerian woman and youth.
