PAAO delegates paid a Courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty the King of Akran and His Chiefs in Badagry Central, Lagos State

The delegates of PAAO arrived at the palace at about 12:55pm. The meeting got underway with the introduction of the PAAO delegates to the Oba and His Chiefs by the Executive Director (Chief Sandra Duru). One of the Chiefs in attendance also introduces formally the King and all other persons at the meeting.

It gladdens the heart of the king that the delegates of PAAO had come to pay Him a visit all the way from Ikeja, Lagos. He received us warmly.

The Ed started by introducing herself and how she actually got to know the King. The presentation of the letter coupled with the proposal letter was done by Mr Smart Okotie (Consultant).

He was asked to read out the content of the letter which he did in the presence of the chiefs of Akran.

In his speech, he emphasized on the essence of the project and how it will be of great benefits to both parties especially the people of Akran, Badagry central Lagos State and even the Badagry people at large and that it will be a great honour if His Majesty could partner with us in the execution of the project being a loving Father and a man of peace.

The Executive Director took over the speech by re-emphasizing on sensitive issues in the proposal. She stressed that the project had actually been concluded to be sited in Kweme Kingdom, but due to internal rives among elders and lack of good leadership and followership, we could not continue the project in the Kingdom.

Furthermore, she did not leave aside the main reason that has to do with the land allocation for the execution of the project in the kingdom of Kweme.

She made them to understand that there was delay in their conclusion peradventure the land should be an outright purchase or a donation towards the historic construction of the edifice in Kweme Kingdom, Badagry.

It was taking the elders of the land too much of time to decide yet we are running out of time as the project is meant to commence soonest and she stated that the management envisaged that there was problem relating to the issue of land so the need to look out for an alternative was of utmost importance as we do not want to invest our resources where there is likely going to be conflicts in the future.

The Ed stated clearly that we were working with international bodies like the foreign partners/expatriates and some local banks in the country to ensure a successful execution of the project.

The situation around the palace was nothing but a chant of praise and appreciation by the High Chief and Chief of Akran and even His Royal Majesty.

They commented well on the decision to site the project in their kingdom and assured of rendering all assistance we would ever need to make that historic mark in the land.

His Royal Majesty then called the Alapa of Apa of our visit informing Him that we were coming over to meet with him as well that he should also receive us well.

The HRM appreciated the ED’s courage and made her understand that she deserves a chieftaincy title on merit in both kingdoms; Apa and Akran.

Thereafter, there was a group photograph with the King and Chiefs and elders of the Kingdom with PAAO delegates.

The meeting was closed with prayers by the King and presentation of gifts was done thereafter.
